Biography

Edward J. Ajaeb is an experienced professional investigator, researcher, business owner, author, and national speaker specializing in legal investigations, due diligence, background checks, social media and online investigations, and open source intelligence (OSINT).


As founder and president of Nighthawk Strategies based in Washington, D.C., Ajaeb has built on many years of experience successfully navigating complex investigative, intelligence, and research challenges. Ajaeb has conducted thousands of investigations both nationally and globally for clients who rank among the largest law firms, companies, and nonprofit organizations in the world.


At the age of 16, Ajaeb interned for a U.S. federal judge and county prosecutor in New York State. By age 23, he received an Award of Distinction from the Assistant Attorney General of the United States for his work at the Department of Justice on major antitrust litigation.


Ajaeb has been featured in Forbes, NBC, CBS, U.S. News & World Report, PI Magazine, Security Today, and other acclaimed media outlets, magazines, and podcasts. He has presented and lectured at numerous international conferences on the topics of social media investigations, online intelligence, and advanced investigative techniques. He has also been a contributor to two books: Art of Investigation II and Protection of Assets. 


Ajaeb is the current Vice President of the National Council of Investigation and Security Services (NCISS). He is also a member of the National Association of Legal Investigators (NALI), the World Association of Detectives (WAD), the Society of Professional Investigators (SPI), Intellenet, ASIS International, and the Association of Independent Information Professionals (AIIP).
