Corporate Transparency Act: Reporting Your Company’s Ownership Information to the U.S. Government

Presenter: Ed Ajaeb, Vice President of NCISS

Wednesday, April 24, 2024
2:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT

Starting January 1, 2024, a new federal law is requiring nearly all companies in the U.S. to report information about their beneficial owners—the persons who ultimately own or control the company—to the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). These new reporting requirements are aimed to strengthen the U.S. financial system by making it harder for illicit actors to use shell companies to launder their money or hide assets.

This session will provide an overview of the new law and FinCEN’s beneficial ownership information reporting requirements. Your company is likely required to report this information to the U.S. government, so come learn what information is required and how to maintain compliance with this new legislation.

Note: This session is provided as a member benefit for informational purposes only and does not replace the guidance of your legal counsel or financial advisor. Please consult your attorney or CPA for guidance regarding your specific reporting situation or visit FinCEN.gov/BOI for official information.
