Advocate Mid Term Meeting 2017 - From the President…

Dear Members and Colleagues: Wow! What an experience it is to realize you are now the President of the “National Council of Investigation & Security Services” NCISS (Our Voice in DC and Across America). As we attended the 41st Hit the Hill and Annual Meeting in Washington DC this past March, I think it was the best in years. The attendance was double what we had the year before. There were a lot more things going on. I think it was due to the so many legislative changes that were being addressed that had our attention. We worked the Hill and got more attention from our Representatives and Senators. We contacted more than usual and at the end of the day, we enjoyed a hospitality and debriefing session with some of the office staff members we had called on. This is so important, as they remember us the next year when we set appointments.

The next day I was sworn in and accepted the vows for the Presidency of NCISS 2017-2018. I then congratulated the new members of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. The next day we also had some excellent educational speakers that topped it off. To all members of NCISS, another well attended Hit the Hill representing and protecting all in our profession from laws passing that would have an adverse effect on our industry. I returned to my office and started the role as NCISS President, to represent NCISS and members to the best of my ability. I went to work with State Associations and booking their conferences to attend as many state conferences as I do every year, working the booth and speaking for NCISS when given the opportunity. NCISS is a great place to find professional networking opportunities, good friends and fellow Colleagues that work hard for our industry and that know how to laugh and have fun. The first one was FALI in early May – I have been a member of FALI for eleven years. Then in early June I attended the CALI conference. Our next stop is San Antonio TX for TALI, another great annual conference, this August. Thanks, and see you on down the road my friends!

Respectfully, Terry Myer, Sr.
