The NCISS PI Insurance Plan

Brownyard Programs has developed a liability insurance program that is specifically designed for small private investigation agencies with up to 5 investigators. The program is endorsed and sponsored by the National Council of Investigation & Security Services, Inc., which is the largest independent security guard and investigation association in the U.S. A master policy has been issued in the name of the association and each individual NCISS member that participates in the program becomes an Additional Named Insured on the policy with all the rights & privileges of a policyholder. The premiums for the program are lower than most other programs, because of the master policy concept, which significantly reduces the administrative costs associated with the issuance of individual policies. The NCISS PI Insurance Plan includes the following major features:

COVERAGE

  • Comprehensive General Liability—Basic premises and operations coverage

  • Professional Liability/Errors and Omissions—Includes coverage for financial loss

  • Assault and Battery—Includes coverage for ALL assaults—not only assaults
wherein reasonable force is used to protect persons or property.

  • Personal Injury—False arrest, libel and slander, invasion of privacy, etc.

  • Contractual Liability—Coverage for hold harmless/indemnification contracts or agreements

  • Additional Insured—Coverage available at an additional charge

  • Independent Contractors

LIMITS

$1,000,000 per occurrence and $2,000,000 aggregate.

COMMON ANNIVERSARY DATE

Because the program utilizes a master policy, the policy contains a common anniversary date for all participants. Should a company join after the common anniversary date, its premium will be pro-rated. The policy’s common anniversary date is March 5th.

INSURANCE COMPANY

The NCISS Master Policy underwriter is rated "A" (Excellent) in Best’s Key Rating Guide. The master policy is written in the State of New York on a non-admitted basis.
