Senate Votes to Repeal Expanded 1099
Requirement
The US Senate today voted to repeal a provision of the 2010 health care bill
that requires businesses to issue 1099 forms to vendors for purchases over
$600, regardless of whether they are incorporated.
Small businesses were especially concerned about this burdensome provision
and have opposed it since it passed last year. It was added to the health
care bill originally because supporters believed it would raise revenue.
The House passed the bill earlier thisyear, so the measure now goes to
President Obama for his approval. |
